Make your text shine with this cool and easy to follow photoshop tutorial.

Step 1
Firstly, create a new document 500 by 400 pixels. Set your foreground and background colours to #2e2e2e and #1f1e1e. Select the gradient tool and set it to radial gradient. Fill the background with a gradient by left clicking in the top left corner, dragging down to the bottom right and releasing.

Step 2
Secondly, select the text tool and type out the name of your site. Use a clear bold font for this. The colour I have used is #fba80a.

Step 3
Now we are going to be applying a couple of layer syles to our text.

Layer > Layer Styles > Outer Glow

Layer > Layer Styles > Gradient Overlay. Click the gradient box and drag the top two points inwards so one is at position 25%, and the other at 75% roughly.

Step 4
Lastly, we are going to be adding a little effect in the background to finish it off. Create a new layer (Layer > New > Layer) and make a selection over the top of the lower half of the text like so.

Step 5
Fill this selection with a linear gradient from #464646 at the top to transparent at the bottom using the gradient tool.

Step 6
Move this new layer below the text layer in the layers window by dragging it.

Step 7
Using the eraser tool and a soft 100 pixel brush, cut off the ends.

Step 8
Lower the opacity of this layer to 40% and you are finished.
